Stefan Raffl is a poet and writer. His work has appeared in Crannóg, Tint Journal, Contemporary Haibun Online, Under the Basho, North of Oxford, and other publications. He writes about ordinary moments and follows them as they unfold. Originally from Austria, he lives in California.
He is a leadership guide and the author of The Natural Strategist, a book on leadership through attention and care. Drawing on his experience leading businesses and teams through complex transformations, he helps leaders navigate change and grow with clarity and confidence. His work begins with listening and thoughtful questions, creating the trust and space for others to recognize their own strength and move toward purposeful action. Before advice, frameworks, or action plans, there is attention. And attention can change what becomes possible.
I love being in nature. It is where I notice more, think more clearly, and reconnect with what matters, the people and world around me. Nature has shown me that everything is connected, that care creates strength, and that adaptation is how living systems thrive.
Leadership begins with attention, grows through care, and thrives through adaptation. That is the idea behind The Natural Strategist.
THE STORY
Nature & Leadership
-
In nature, everything is interconnected. The plants and animals depend on each other, and they all depend on the sun and water. Like a thriving ecosystem, all of our decisions and actions have an impact on the world around us. As leaders, we want to captivate what is best for the whole.
-
When we care about those around us - customers, colleagues, employees, suppliers, communities - we create better outcomes and well-being.
-
Nature is constantly changing. If we can change and grow as the world around us changes, we will thrive. Being open to new ideas and new ways of doing things leads to promising new solutions.
